Freedom Of Religion and of Self Expression and more

Freedom of religion and freedom of self expression remain important to me. Both of these do not include the right to harm others. Allowing others to believe or not believe does not interfere with our own beliefs. Allowing others to express their beliefs and thoughts does not interfere with our own freedom as long as it does not lead with to any one getting hurt. That does not mean that I want to hear hate speech. In my beliefs and self expression I am not going to make my choices in order to please anybody else. I can only be truly if I make the choices that fit who I am. I cannot be happy if I compromise who I am. My life continues to be a journey, and the path I take is ultimately my decision. I may ask others for help in finding my way, but I am the one who decides on my life goals.

I do not feel comfortable living in a country where I can now legally love and marry someone of my own gender while in the countries with which I feel a spiritual connection people can be arrested and abused for being LGBTQ. I do not want to be a guilty bystander, to steal from Thomas Merton. Some people say that I can keep that as a dream, but to focus on getting a job. I need to get a job now, but that does not meant that I cannot start looking into what I can do to get involved in the fight that matters so much to me.
