"Celebrations: Rituals of Peace and Prayer" by Maya Angelou

Celebrations:Rituals of Peace and Prayer is a collection of poems by Maya Angelou that was published after the collection of her complete poems. I did not mean to denigrate her poetry in my previous past about her writings. She wrote some very powerful poetry. This collection contains some of her most powerful poems. She wrote on themes such as racism, child abuse, sexism, homophobia, etc. She refused to bow her head in shame. Some people saw this as haughtiness. She was just showing that she was worthy of respect and had dignity. She taught us that this is true of all of us. I am currently reading I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. I will write about that later.
