"To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee

It has been several years since I read To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. This book is as relevant today as it was when it was written. There have been some changes in the justice system since the book was written, but some of the injustices portrayed in the book are still taking place. Juries are no longer composed completely of white men, but it is still hard for African Americans to get fair trials. Too  many African Americans are harassed or killed by police officers.  This is a book that makes me laugh, cry and get angry. This book is worthy of all of all of the accolades that it has received. I hope that this book is still in school curricula. We need to make sure that injustices similar to the ones that are portrayed in this book cease to happen.
