We definitely need a complete overhaul of the electoral system in the USA, but this is not going to happen if we depend on the government to do it. The president should be elected directly by the people instead of by the electoral college. It does not make sense that it is possible for a candidate to win the popular vote but not to get voted into office by the electoral office. The vast majority of politicians are influenced by large donors. The rich, corporations, special interests and Super PAC's have too much influence in campaigns and then over those who get voted into office. Most elected officials do not represent the people who voted them into office. They have been bought. Nothing short of some kind of revolution is going to change this. In a way I am sad that I am planning on moving out of this country before that happens. I just hope people wake up and dump Trump.
