Thoughts on War

When governments of different countries disagree the citizens are fed propaganda that says that the citizens of the other countries are our enemies. We are told this even when the average citizens of different countries have more in common than we are led to believe. We are also fed lies about what the real causes of disagreement. I know that in recent history the U.S. government talks about wanting liberty for all people, but they really want to get oil from these countries they call dangerous. Wars are started by those who have power and money, but wars are fought by those much less influence and money. Governments are always ready to put the lives of citizens in danger in war. They claim that they want to keep their citizens safe, yet often they are more in favor of war than they are in negotiation. Leaders who want to avoid war are called weak. Those who are favor of war are called strong. Sending someone else to die in the name of a country does take strength. War does not make anyone free. It often replaces one form of tyranny with another. If all countries worked together to keep us all safe and fed no one would go hungry. The earth holds enough renewable resources to meet the needs of everyone on the planet. It is the governments of this world that cause wars. If the citizens of the planet were educated about the propaganda propagated by the governments war would cease if we would all work together. I know that this is not likely to happen, but we can start working toward that.
