Holly Williams: The Highway

"The Highway" is probably not the best choice for listening when I am feeling down. It is a beautiful CD. Holly Williams it the granddaughter of Hank Williams, the daughter of Hank Williams Jr. and half sister of Hank Williams III. Her music is much softer than III's. She wrote or co-wrote all of the songs. She sings and plays the guitar. She also co-produced the CD. Jackson Browne, Jakob Dylan, Derks Bentley and Gwynneth Paltrow each appear on one song. "Drinkin'" is about a man who cheats on his wife. "Waiting on June" is a very moving song about a couple who stay together many years. They played together as children. Gradually they fall in love and marry. They end their years together in separate rooms of a nursing home. It is about her mother's parents. This CD is better than what I hear on country music radio stations.
