Is North Really North, Does the Sun Rise and Set and does the Sun Ever Stop Shining?

In one of my poems I wrote, "when walking down the street i felt dizzy until i realised that north is south." Maybe our view of the world is upside down. Who decided what is north and what is south? We take for granted that how we have been to taught to view this is the only possibility. They could easily be reversed. I recently a video where this point of view was discussed. Is this a reflection of seeing the countries in the "Northern" hemisphere as being more important or more powerful? How would visitors from other planets see it?
We speak of the sun rising and setting, but in reality it does not do either of those things. The earth moves in relation to the sun, not the other way around. It is useful from a poetic point of view but not realistic. People speak of the sun not shining when it cloudy. Just because there are clouds between us and the sun does not mean it is not shining. When it is cloudy people often say, "I hope the sun comes out," or other similar phrases as if the sun has gone into something. The sun does not stop shining at night. The sun is always shining.
I like to challenge the way people see things. Just because we see something a particular way does not mean it is the only possible perspective.
