poems and some other stuff

definition

the apple tree bends to greet its young.
they are the banana trees of the king.
is this ridiculous or are the ridiculous here.
the french king ate the apple core of mind.
the sublime surreal sat on his throne.

the pencil ran out of ink.
the pen ran out of graphite.
life going on continues.

is a poem a lot of nonsense thrown together to resemble a doughnut in repose
or is a doughnut a poem in repose.

art is that which is called art.

et cetera

a guitar gently crushed lilies,
gathering in their velvet essence,
of this was the underground made.

venturing on into life, has one been here too long.
doing with one's ears what some do with their fingers,
can one get from point a to point b by way of point z.

can one repeat what one repeats without being repetitious.
the gate to the north faces south.
on wednesday was the fur wrapped around venus.
saturn was passed by in haste by those marching.

the etymology of an odour

could i persuade you to be persuaded
he said that there was a statue of a cow in his yard yesterday
did he phone the pope to make an appointment for lunch
his potatoes were eaten without mustard
the programme would not like that
he went there earlier, but he came back later
did he know that persuasion was persuasive when pursued
he ate lunch
was he an abstract  fisherman when he told you that
his neighbour called and asked for advice
is there currency in france
she told him

fine dining with mary elizabeth

mary elizabeth was a perfect joy to her mother. she always did what was expected of her. everything in her room was in its place. there was never a speck of dust to be found. when mother was sick mary elizabeth made sure that she had all that she needed. at these times she cared for her siblings as her mother would.
the day came for mary elizabeth to choose her career. she wanted her choice to please mother. after much thought she made her choice.
she took her dainty pearl-handled pistol and splattered her little brother jonathan's brains on the dining-room wall and called her mother.
mother was pleased with mary elizabeth's decision to go into the art world.
she invited the curator of the local modern art museum to dinner, and they dined on little johnny's pancreas.

have you french your toast today

awareness is on sale at the bazaar
to avoid the rush take your mother
fridays are saturday except on monday

i saw you in the mall, she was eating a marshmallow
after the accident she went into a comma
you are not fooling me, i know what that bandanna means

a gay third was mixed in with the rest
my toes are fluent in french
is speaking in tongues permitted

the title to the following piece

the beginning began before it ended, which was fortunate, because it was tuesday and everything that was did not feellike existing the same space with fred. the next day was the day after, if not, how many spaces are there to an inch on mondays. assure me that you are certain, can you justify the justification.

the title with no poem

the sign read:
     if you can read this
     you are here, if not
     what the fuck do
     you think you are
     doing
the next sign read:
     $500 fine for reading
     this sign, guard
     on duty
there was no next sign,
     it had gone home
     for brunch.
